MAJOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT AT HUECO TANKS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS IMPACT ON COMMUNITY
Submitted 11/05/2023 - by Email
Take a moment to read these documents. They show several actions and plans for land located by the "Pink Bench". Several claims have been made for the location. All seem to be "Pipe Dreams" like the following claims made by the same land owner.

VERBAL CLAIMS:
WALMART
VILLAGE INN
LAKE
CABINS
GOLF COURSE
LARGE HOUSING COMMUNITY

I wish I was making this up. But this is what he personally told me. Please note the documents are dated in the 1970's and his verbal claims were made during 2011-2014.

11/05/2023 - by Email Yes, this is exactly why this man is tricking community members into supporting his cause. It's to increase his land value and help fund his house development land sales. He tricked most of them very good with his online AP and false claims. But here's all the transparency we need right here in legal county documents. Our taxes would be even higher if water and sewage was installed here. Thanks to members of the community taking a stand against these people.

11/06/2023 - by Email I've had a great life living here since the 1970s. My family was raised here my children and relatives have been here for many years. I have seen times change. But. Lately things that are changing are bad for the community. I've lived here for a long time and I am very happy with this area. Even in my elder years I am able to survive with out any problem. I can't imagine a large community being built near the pink bench. Even in my lifetime this seems too early. In my opinion this is a landowner or landowners trying to sell beachfront property. It upsets me very much and I hope that other people realize this. Even though I most likely won't experience the conclusion in my lifetime. I feel sad for the people who will still live here. They will not be able to enjoy the desert environment and Hueco Tanks like my family and I have for many years.

11/06/2023 - by Email I agree , we need to stop this act of selfishness and greed.. only lies.. We moved here to get away from people like this.. I've been coming here since the 70s as well.. Lived here 27 years.. I will help fight this whole mess.. It would be sad to see a "housing development" anywhere here.. But greedy people never stop.. Fight goes on.. We can only keep what we have if we're united towards the same cause..

11/07/2023 - by Email Anyone can call the tax office and or county for facts. The taxes went up for the entire city and county of El Paso. Our community is not being deprived of utilities. This still is country ranch land. This is based on it's location. If we want water infrastructure installed out here (which comes with sewage). Our taxes would go up even higher! People wanting all these additional utilities need to do their homework. Don't listen to other claims. The information is public record.

11/11/2023 - by Email Can't build a housing development without water services. If I can convince the community they need water. The water lines will pass right by my new housing community. Plus it will triple the value of my land for sale. It will raise taxes to a level that only the rich can afford. My plan is working... just being funny. You don't have to post this. But these people are destroying the area with their lies and this false prophet they follow.

11/12/2023 - by Email There's always humor for people who do foolish things. This is a very serious subject to me. Who started this organization that has been destroying the area? I looked them up and they aren't even a registered association. They are collecting money and dues! Where's the transparency? What is being done with the membership dues that are being collected? Why would there even be dues? Many of these people that are on this platform just moved here recently. Why do they feel that they have any say in any matter, at any point in this community? In my opinion; most of them have no business living in a ranch Land community. If you need the cities amenities - then move back to the city. If you're uneducated enough to believe that we deserve more infrastructure in this area based on the taxes that we pay. You need to do more research on the subject. That would include speaking with other neighbors and community members and finding out what the majority want. Where did these people come from? California? What are you doing here on Texas ranch land? Do you know that the decisions that you have made recently have evicted many poor families that live in this community?! By demanding utilities and infrastructure for this area you have destroyed poor families living here. Don't you see all the FOR SALE signs? They're selling their land because of these absurd changes. Thanks to these new/uneducated residents destroying the community?

11/13/2023 - by Email I'm personally happy to see Lujan charging more for people on the petitions. It's legal. It's right. And it's what needs to be done. Please publish the petition list so we can all see who these people are. Thank you.
